30/08/07
Well done to the senior camogie team & mentors who gave us 3 great championship matches this year - they played brilliantly and it is great to see the young talent coming thru - should have won the barrs match and the Inniscarra game came too soon after - perhaps if some players were fitter they could have won - keep at it - there is a very good team there. Also well done to the trainers of the smallies who have given so much of their free time to keep camogie alive in the parish.

Congratulations to the u16 hurlers on their magnificent performance in the semi tonight. It was a badly needed boost for hurling in the Club after the week that passed. Best of luck in the final next Saturday.

G'day,
My name is Brendan Barry-Murphy I live in Melbourne Australia. I am the son of John Barry-Murphy who left his home in Coolmakee when he was about 20 in 1947 and came to Australia. I was doing a google search and noticed that you also had a Brendan Barry Murphy involved in your hurling club. I am heavily involved in junior AFL footy as a coach and also junior cricket as a coach. I have 3 kids Xavier 15, Bridgette 13 and Hannah 9 - don't know what else to say but you have a good website and it is interesting to know there is a at least one more of me in the big wide world - its probably likely that we are related but not sure how close. Anyway I would welcome any contact if any one is interested. My Email address is barrymb@cba.com.au Cheers BBM

As an old ex Aghabullogue person I am saddened to see that the address for The Aghabullogue GAA & Camogie clubs is given as Coachford. Why are there no facilities in Aghabullogue.? You have forgotten your heritage, REMEMBER 1890. Where can I obtain a photograph of the 1890 Aghabullogue team? Congratulations on your web site.
Reply: The main facilities for Aghabullogue GAA are based in Coachford ( Pitches, Sports Complex, etc), therefore the address is given as Coachford. We have not forgotten 1890, a memorial plaque has been erected in Aghabulloge to commemorate that glorious period for Aghabullogue GAA.  If you contact our Secretary, Peter Dineen, 021-7334777, with your contact details, a copy of the 1890 Aghabullogue team will be sent to you.

Hey anybody got news on when the Liam Breathnach cup final is on?

29/01/07
Just heard that the Intermediate Hurlers played a practice game yesterday. Did they win? and does anyone know what was the team?
Reply: The lads played Valley Rovers and won by a goal. Well done. I think Finbarr Foley was in goal and Dan Twomey was playing centre forward (about time). I don't know who was full back but does anyone know if Richie Tarrant has retired? If he has then it is a sad day for Aghabullogue. Richie was class and a brilliant leader on the field. He may not have been the fastest but he was certainely one of the bravest. This club owes you a huge debt of gratitude.

28/01/07
new and improved website is brilliant ......
keep it updated (",)......

16/01/07
A new management of sorts is in place this year for hurling and football teams. Hopefully it will bring success. All players and management must pull together if we are to achieve this. There can be no such thing as individualism by players and players should be played according to their performances in training and matches not for who they are. Well done with updating the site keep it going.

05/01/07

In reference to our intermediate hurlers I feel we need a fresh approach. While watching our hurlers play Blareny in Ovens last year I felt the team lacked spirit and didnt look hungry, is this the players or managements fault. I think the blame must be shared. Another point I would like to make is while watching this match I noticed a person watching the game also, my question is what was he doing outside the wire when his talents could have been used inside the wire. This person has no problem playing football for the club but has been missing for the last two hurling championships. I feel we need all our best players playing on both teams to have success. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A HUGE COMMITTMENT FOR THE PLAYERS BUT HOPE IT IS ONE THEY CAN MAKE. BEST OF LUCK TO ALL AGHABULLOGUE PLAYERS FOR 2007.
